Chair of the Department of Population Health in the Dell Medical School at the University of Texas at Austin

 

This week at Medical Grand Rounds, Dr. William Tierney, MD will give the Sara and Arnold Grandberg Lecture in Primary Care. Dr. Tierney is Chair of the Department of Population Health in the Dell Medical School at the University of Texas at Austin and is internationally recognized for his research in biomedical informatics, health services research, and clinical database epidemiology. He has received the highest career achievement award from leading national organizations in three disciplines: the Society of General Internal Medicine (its Robert J. Glaser award), the American College of Medical Informatics (the Morris F. Collen Award), and the Association for Clinical and Translational Science (its award for career achievement in research). Dr. Tierney has published over 300 peer-reviewed articles that have been cited more than 22,000 times and has been inducted into the National Academy of Medicine. His talk this week will be entitled “Population Health: Breaking Molds and Walls.”
