BIRT Postdoctoral Fellow, Sheida Nabavi, Presents Poster at The 12th International Meeting on Human Genome Variation and Complex Genome Analysis (HGV2011)

BIRT Postdoctoral Fellow Sheida Nabavi presented a poster at HGV2011, which took place from September 8-10 in Berkeley, California. Her poster, entitled " Comparative Analysis of Copy Number Variation Detection Methods Using Next Generation Sequencing", highlights her work in which she analyzed and compared the performance of six publicly available copy number variation (CNV) detection tools using nine breast cancer next generation sequencing (NGS) data sets and simulated data sets. Her objectives for her study are to provide insight and evidence to identify important factors useful to select optimal CNV detection methods and tools for Breast cancer studies as well as designing and testing optimal NGS CNV analysis pipeline in order to identify strengths and weaknesses of current CNV tools.
