Ichiro Ikuta has Two Papers Accepted by Radiology
Radiology recently accepted two publications from BIRT Postdoctoral Fellow Ichiro Ikuta.
The first paper (for which Ichiro is first author) is entitled "Exposing Exposure: Enhancing Patient Safety through Automated Data Mining of Nuclear Medicine Reports for Quality Assurance and Organ Dose Monitoring." This first paper details the findings presented at RSNA 2011, a conference Ichiro attended in November and December of 2011.
The second paper (for which Ichiro is fourth co-author) is entitled "Exposing Exposure: Enhancing Patient Safety Initiatives through Automated Anatomy-Specific CT Radiation Exposure Extraction." This paper explores the development of a data extraction informatics toolkit for computed tomography (CT). The hope is that by obtaining patient-specific information, his group can calculate patient-specific radiation dose estimates. Click here for website for this toolkit, which is freely available.
