BIRT Postdoctoral Fellow Jay Ronquillo's article, entitled “How the electronic health record (EHR) will change the future of healthcare", will appear in the September 2012 issue of the Yale Journal of Biology and Medicine. 

Electronic health records (EHRs) have become increasingly essential to managing the wealth of existing clinical information that now includes genetic information extracted from the patient genome.  This review article discusses how the EHR is capable of changing healthcare in the future by transforming the way physicians use genomic information in the practice of medicine.
